General Travel Guidelines
The most convenient big city connecting to our event is Bengaluru (aka Bangalore), well connected by Air, Rail and Road. For most participants, we recommend planning your travel via Bengaluru.
If you are traveling from Goa, Kerala or Maharashtra, consider coming via Mangaluru (aka Mangalore) which is also fairly well connected to our event location.
We strongly recommend that you try and form a group to come to our event. It will make travel and accommodation much easier and economical. You can share your experience and stories for a lifetime!
You can join an exclusive WhatsApp group created for our particpants to find others to travel and room with. An invitation link to this community will be available in your registration email.
Plan your arrivals on Friday, November 27th and your departure on Sunday, November 28th unless you want to extend your stay for a vacation.
International participants and single ladies can write to us for assistance.
Private Transport
Mallanduru, our event location is about 260 kms by road from Bengaluru via NH 75 and SH 373, and it takes around 5 hours to reach with a couple of breaks.
Use Google Maps or other mapping Apps to save your route and directions in advance. Mobile network is patchy near our event location.
Public Buses
Several air-conditioned and non-AC buses ply from Bengaluru to Chikmagalur (aka Chikkamagaluru) and destinations beyond.
Government operated buses can be booked on the official KSRTC site.
There are plenty of private bus operators and you can book on sites like Redbus and Abhibus
Shared taxis and autos are available from Chikkamagalur town, if you arrive between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Expect a journey time of around an hour to our event location.
Indian Railways
Birur Junction (Station Code RRB) and Kadur (Station Code DRU) are the two closest railway stations and there is good connectivity from most parts of India.
Travel time is about 1.5 hours from these stations to our event. Local taxis are available outside the railway station.
If you are traveling from Bengaluru, we recommend a public bus over a train. It is much faster and convenient.
Reservations on Indian Railways can be made on the official IRCTC site.
Air Travel
Kempegowda International Airport (Airport Code BLR) is about 280 Kms from Mallanduru, our event location and is well connected from all major destinations in India and abroad. It takes about 5 hours of travel time by road.
Mangaluru International Airport (Airport Code IXE) is a good alternative for those connecting from the western side of India or the middle east region.
Local Transfers
If you do not have your own vehicle, you will have to depend on local 3-wheeler autos or cabs for local transfers.
If you are arriving by public transport in Chikkamagalur, you can find autos and cabs outside the bus stand. You can try to contact the following to book in advance.

Most of these homestays are pre-designed for group stays and rooms are generally available in a multple-bed configurations from 3 to dormitories accommodating 20 people! Food in the Area
The area in and around Mallanduru, our event venue, has limited options for food. This is mostly due to the fact that the homestays in the area offer a full daily package that includes meal plans. As a result, your best option is to eat at the homestay that you will stay at during our event. Please plan well in advance and be sure to discuss menu, timings and availability with your homestay prior to booking.
