We offer four categories in our 2026 edition over 30 Km, 50 Km(Day or Night) and 100 Km as detailed below.

All participants must be at 18 years of age as of November 27, 2026.

Our 30 Km is designed for first time trail runners and regular hikers. Runners who have completed a few Half-Marathons or more on city roads can begin their trail journey in this category.
We are hoping to convert city runners into trail runners with this experience!
The 6.0 hours cut-off seems very liberal, but many will be tested to complete the course
Our course is in a remote area with rugged terrain. For your safety, we want to understand your level of training in the weeks approaching our event so that we can assess your endurance levels and readiness to handle the rigours of our course.
You can provide your proof of qualification during registration or via email by November 7th, 2026.
You must provide us evidence of your qualification by submitting an online link by meeting ANY ONE of the following criteria:
- Previous participant of Malnad Ultra, any edition, any distance. It does not matter whether you finished or not, but you must have started the race. Share the year and category, email ID or mobile number or Bib number and we will verify your information from our database
- Completed a Half-Marathon of 21 Kms at an officially timed event under 2 hours and 30 minutes in 2026
- You have a non-zero ITRA Performance Index. Provide your ITRA ID during registration
If you are unsure whether your entry will get accepted, please write an email with relevant details prior to registration and our team will let you know whether we will accept or reject your entry.
If you have not submitted your qualification during registration, please remember to email us your proof by November 7th. Note that we require online links to official event results. PDFs or screenshots of results will strictly not be accepted as evidence.
Your entry will not get accepted without qualification. You will also not get a refund if we do not receive your qualification proof in time and you will not be allowed to participate in the event.

We will also place physical markers on the course during the event. These physical markers take precedence over the GPX file. Look out for pre-race announcements.
In order to record a Finish, runners must pass through all designated Aid Stations and Timing Mats on the course and reach the Finish line by 1:30 PM (6.0 hours).
There are no intermediate cut-offs in 30 Km category.
If you miss the cut-off by a few minutes, we will use Chip Time to determine your Finish. This is to ensure that runners at the back of the crowd during the start are not disadvantaged.
There are 3 Aid Stations and 2 Water Points on the 30 Km course. Details on what is available at our stations will be published well before the event.

Our 50 Km is designed for regular marathoners and experienced mountaineers and hikers. Runners who have completed a few Full-Marathons or more on city roads can consider signing up for this category.
Our Day Edition does not need any special equipment since our course is mostly non-technical.
Our course is in a remote area with rugged terrain. For your safety, we want to understand your level of training in the weeks approaching our event so that we can assess your endurance levels and readiness to handle the rigours of our course.
You can provide your proof of qualification during registration or via email by November 7th, 2026.
You must provide us evidence of your qualification by submitting an online link by meeting ANY ONE of the following criteria:
- Previous Finisher of Malnad Ultra, any edition, any distance. Share the year and category, email ID or mobile number or Bib number and we will verify your information from our database
- Completed a Full Marathon of 42 Kms at an officially timed event under 5 hours and 30 minutes in 2026
- You have an ITRA Performance Index > 275. Provide your ITRA ID during registration
- You have finished a Trail Run of 30 Kms or more within the cut-off time provided for that event in 2026
- You have completed a 50Km Stadium Run within 7 hours in 2026

Our 50 Km Night Edition is designed for regular marathoners and experienced mountaineers and hikers who want to experience the thrill of night-running or simply prefer to run in cooler temperatures.
This category is also suitable for runners who want to pace and provide company to a 100 Km participant in their second loop. We are offering this event on a trial basis this year to encourage 100 Km participants who are fazed by thought of running alone in the night.
Runners who have completed a few Full-Marathons or more on city roads can consider signing up for this category.
Headlights or hand-held flashlights are mandatory for this category

Our 100 Km is designed for highly experienced marathoners, trail runners, experienced mountaineers and hikers who want to test their endurance and mental strength.
Finishers in this category can apply for the WSER 2028 lottery.
Runners who have completed several Full-Marathons or more on city roads or other trail events can consider signing up for this category.
Headlights or hand-held flashlights are mandatory for this category
Note that we have added a new 50 KM Night edition to help 100 Km participants who want to avail a pacer in their second loop.

- Completed TWO Full-Marathon of 42 Kms at an officially timed event in 2026 in under 5 hours and 30 minutes.
- You have an ITRA Performance Index > 375. Provide your ITRA ID during registration
- You have finished a Trail Run of 50 Kms or more within the cut-off time provided for that event in 2026
- You have completed a 75Km Stadium Run within 11 hours in 2026

Runners must start their second loop after 50 Km by 4:30 PM (10 hours). Additionally, you must cross the 88 Km checkpoint at Aid Station 5 by 1:30 AM. If not, we will hold you back at this Aid Station.
If you miss the cut-off by a few minutes, we will use Chip Time to determine your Finish. This is to ensure that runners at the back of the crowd during the start are not disadvantaged.
There are 6 Aid Stations and 3 Water Points on the 50 Km course. Details on what is available at our stations will be published well before the event.
Since our 100 Km is two loops of the 50 Km course, runners will encounter the same aid stations in the second loop. A baggage facility is available at the Start Line which is also the 50 Km mark.

Registrations Window
Our registrations will open at midnight on August 1, 2026 and close on November 1st, 2026 (IST) subject to availability mentioned below.
For the sake of safety and superior runner experience we are capping our registrations as below:

Registrations will close at midnight of November 1st or when we hit the maximum number of entries specified above, whichever is first.
We do not entertain any requests for late on-site registrations or transfers from other participants who are registered, but cannot make it to the event.
Online Briefing - Oct 17, 2026
Our Race Director provided an online briefing on October 17th to help runners and prospective participants plan.
Last Day to Submit Qualification - Nov 07, 2026
You must share your qualification proof by November 7th via email failing which your entry will be cancelled.
We will accept online links to official event results only as proof.
We will not provide refunds or transfers.
Bib Pickup - Nov 27, 2026
Registered participants whose entry has been accepted can pick up their Bibs between 12:00 Noon and 6:00 PM on November 27th, Friday at the Estate Cafe.
Participants can also pick up their bib prior to their race on November 28th at the Start Area. We strongly recommend that you come at least 90 minutes before your event to collect your Bib on Race Day.
Bibs will be handed over to the registered participant only.
